WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 1995 AT 10:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS'
COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET,
SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS.
Topics to be discussed are:
1. Texas A&M University Psychology Intern proposal for Juvenile Services
2. Juvenile Services Boot Camp
3. Road graders
4. Budget requests for Fiscal Year 1996 for.
a. Economic Development Corporation
b. Brazos County Rape Crisis Center, Inc.

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
MAY 31, 1995
•
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a
Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse
in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, May 31, 1995, with the following members of the Court
present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sandie Walker, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

The Court discussed the
following items:
1. Texas A&M University Psychology Intern proposal for
Juvenile Services - this is a proposal for a TAMU
psychology student to do his internship in the juvenile
facility for a twelve month period. The quality of care
is acceptable in most cases. The cost to the county
would be $8,650.00 or 25% of the cost on the open market.
Funding will come from a grant and the other half from
professional services.
2. Juvenile Services Boot Camp - this is a proposal for the
establishment of a combined boot camp and alternative
schooling.
4. Budget requests for fiscal year 1996
•
a) Economic Development Corporation - requested
funds to increase from $100,000.00 to
$140,000.00
b) Brazos County Rape Crisis Center, Inc. -
requested an additional $5,000.00 due to an
increase in rent.
3. Road Graders - the county will accept bids for four
graders. Two graders purchased last year will be turned
in on the buy back option. Funding will come from the
buy back and reserved funds.
The County Judge told the court that copies of the travel
