NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT
The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will hold a Public Hearing to consider the
posting of speed limits on Riley Road in Precinct 3.
The place of the hearing will be the Commissioners' Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse,
Room 115, 300 East 26th Street, Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Monday, May
1, 1995 and the time of the hearing will be 10:00 am.
All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or
against the posting of speed limits on Riley Road in Precinct 3.
The building is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for
sign interpretive services must be made 48 hours before the meeting. To make arrangements,

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
MAY 1, 1995
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider traffic regulations on various
county roads pursuant to Section 2.301 of the County Road and
Bridge Act, Art. 6702-1 subchapter D, Vernons Civil Statutes.
The hearing was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00
a.m. on Monday, May 1, 1995, with the following members of the
Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sandie Walker, Commissioner of Precinct, Absent 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for or against the posting of speed limits on Riley Road in
Precinct 3.
Commissioner Sims asked Mr. Ray Crow, representative of
the Road and Bridge Department, if the 85 percentile count had
been done. Mr. Crow answered that it had. He said he placed
counters at two (2) locations along Riley Road. The first
counter measured 204 cars that day and the 85 percentile was
49.3 miles per hour. The second location yielded 66 cars and
e 05 percentile was 41.1 miles per hour. Mr. Crow then
commended a speed limit of 45 miles per hour for that road.
Commissioner Sims noted that since no one else was
esent to give commentary for or against the proposed speed
mit, the meeting was adjourned.
