BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WORKSHOP
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A WORKSHOP SESSION ON
FRIDAY. MARCH 17, 1995 AT 9:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM
OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115,
BRYAN, TEXAS.
Topics to be discussed are:
1. Possible resolution of outstanding bid offer for purchase of Brazos County owned
land located on College Avenue (1.52 acre tract of land out of and a part of the Zeno Phillips
League, Abstract Number 45).
2. Review with Department Heads and Computer Network Services existing
computer needs, problems, and concerns (both hardware and software).

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
MARCH 17, 1995
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00
a.m. on Friday, March 17, 1995, with the following members of
the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1,;
Sandie Walker, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3,;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The County Judge explained the purpose of the Workshop
session.
The first matter for discussion was the possible
resolution of outstanding bid offers for the sale of Brazos
County owned land located on College Avenue (1.52 acre tract).
Commissioner Sims gave a brief history of the tract from the
time the land was purchased for a half-way house for Juveniles
to the current dilemma. Commissioner Norton stated that he
was of the opinion that the bid be honored and the property
sold. It was recommended that the item be put on the
Commissioners Court agenda and that a contract be drawn up for
the sale of the property.
The second matter for discussion was a review with
Department Heads and the Computer and Network Services of
existing computer needs, problems and concerns of both
hardware and software. John Branch of the C&NS department
briefed the court on the number of computers currently in use
as compared to when he first began work with the county. The
County Auditor expressed dissatisfaction with the Novell
Network. A committee was formed to meet on the computer
problems. Commissioner Walker will chair the committee
consisting of the following employees:

There being nothing further to discuss, the meeting was,
adjourned.
