Consider and take action on the Brazos County Emergency Communications District (9-1-1) budget for Fiscal Year 1993-94. 7. Adjourn. v COMMISSIONERS' COURT REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 13, 1993 • A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13, 1993, with the following members of the Court present: R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Absent; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Presiding; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Carol Palmer Bea Green Stephanie Clark Cheryl Turney Sandie Walker • Frank Palermo Rita J. Watkins Bobby Riggs Jim Hiney Jennifer Gordy Executive Assistant Admin. Asst, to County Judge Secretary to Commissioners Auditor's Office Auditor's Office Treasurer Road & Bridge Sheriff's Office Sheriff Bryan/College Station Eagle KBTX-TV Commissioner Sims gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. The Court next considered Budget Amendment #92/93-25, which would reallocate funds budgeted for the Sheriff's Department and transfer funds from Justice of the Peace Precinct 4, Place 1 to the office of Constable Precinct 4. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Norton, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a copy of which is attached hereto. On motion by Commissioner Turner, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to accept the recommendations of the Purchasing Agent and award the contracts to American Redi-Mix, bid No. 93-696, Bluebonnet Paving, Bid No. 93-697, Austin White Lime, Bid No. 93-698, Bluebonnet Paving, Bid No. 93-699. On motion by Commissioner Norton, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to adopt a Resolution approving the budget for the Brazos County Emergency Communications District (9-1-1). The budget is for the 1993-1994 fiscal year. Brazos County's contribution is $114,451.00. The Court acknowledged receipt of the Extension Service reports for August 1993 and receipt of reports from County and Precinct offices showing revenues collected and remitted to the County Treasurer. An excerpt from those reports is attached hereto. Commissioner Norton questioned the mileage claimed to Austin on one of the reports. Ii T •~11 h ~ f d J • vLJ Y~ i r I ! • i I' I t RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BUDGET FOR THE BRAZOS COUNTY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS DISTRICT {9-1-1}; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas provide for interlocal governmental agreements to benefit the citizens of the State; and, WHEREAS, the voters of Brazos County have approved the establishment of a Brazos County Emergency Communications District 9-1-1 in accordance with State law; and, WHEREAS, the Board of Managers of the District have approved and adopted the Budget for fiscal year 1993-94; and, WHEREAS, Section 772.309 of the Health and Safety Code requires the approval of the District's budget by the Commissioner's Court of the County located in the District and a majority of the participating jurisdictions in the District; and, WHEREAS, the undersigned authorities have, in public meeting approved the annual budget of the District as submitted to them; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT THAT: 1. The Brazos County Commissioners Court hereby approves the annual budget of the District as submitted to them and as provided for by law. 2. A copy of the budget is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference for all purposes. 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption =3adga:v.
