MINUTES JANUARY 17, 2024 BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT EMERGENCY MEETING Call to Order An Emergency Meeting of the Brazos County Commissioners' Court was held in room 106 in the Brazos County Administration Building, 200 South Texas Avenue, Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with the following members of the Court present: Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding; Steve Aldrich, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Chuck Konderla, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Wanda Watson, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in attendance. 2. This notice of an Emergency Meeting is being provided in accordance with Section 551.045 of the Texas Government Code. This emergency meeting is being scheduled to take appropriate action on the following: 1. Budget Amendments • FY 23/24 Budget Amendments 15.01 - 15.04 2. Payment of Claims • Claim #8200256 — 8200418 • Claim #9200101 — 9200145 The County Judge called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. Judge Peters read the claim numbers and budget amendment numbers as stated above. Commissioner Berry offered a motion to approve both the claims and budget amendments. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Konderla. Commissioner Aldrich questioned Budget Amendment 15.04 for the Exterior Access Stair project for the Health Department, Brazos Center and Juvenile Center buildings. He asked for more information on the project. Budget Officer Nina Payne explained that the project includes building outside stairs and installing a wench. Purchasing Agent Charles Wendt further explained this will give Facility Services a more secure way to access the roof and the wench will allow them to safely take equipment up to the roof. Commissioner Aldrich asked where the idea originated from. Mr. Wendt said Facility Services made the request because of an accident and wanted to improve the safety for staff. He added this was the recommendation from the architect on the project. Commissioner Aldrich said he agreed with wanting to keep the employees safe. At this point Judge Peters called for the vote on the two items and it passed unanimously. Motion: Approve, Moved by Commissioner Nancy Berry, Seconded by Commissioner Chuck Konderla. Passed. 5-0. Ayes: Aldrich, Berry; Konderla, Peters, Watson. 3.
