BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WILL MEET INAWORKSHOP SESSION AS FOLLOWS:

2. Presentation and discussion by Mr. Dan Rudge, Executive Director of the Bryan/College
Station MPO, regarding the requirements for completing the Comprehensive Safety Action
Plan under the Safe Streets and Roads for All Discretionary Planning Grant and the
developmental steps of the plan.

WORKSHOP SESSION
Call To Order
The.Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session in the
Commissioners' Courtroom in the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023 with the
following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, -County Judge, Presiding;
Steve Aldrich, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent;
Chuck Konderla, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Wanda J. Watson, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance.
Judge Peters called the meeting to order and invited Dan Rudge, Executive Director of
the Bryan/College Station Metropolitan Planning Organization to speak.
2. Presentation and. discussion by Mr. Dan Rudge, Executive Director of the Bryan/College
Station MPO, regarding the requirements for completing the Comprehensive Safety
Action Plan under the Safe Streets and Roads for All Discretionary Planning Grant and
the developmental steps of the plan.
Mr. Rudge provided the Court with an update on the developmental plan for the Safe
Streets and Roads ForAll Discretionary Planning Grant. Mr. Rudge stated that the grant
is intended to fund local initiatives to prevent deaths and serious injuries on roads and
streets. He said a joint application for the Comprehensive. Safety Action Plan Grant was
submitted with the Bryan/College Station MPO as the lead agency. Mr. Rudge said the
grant was awarded in March for $ 210,000.0.0 with a 20% match. The next step is for
Brazos County, the City of Bryan and the City of College Station to each submit a list of
five (5) names to serve on an Oversight Committee. The committee members will
identify "safety issues and seek strategies to alleviate those problems. Mr. Rudge
thanked Assistant County Auditor Amy Bates for her assistance with submitting the grant
application.
