BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
1. Call to Order
A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in
the Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom in the Administration Building, 200
South Texas Avenue, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on
Thursday, December 9, 2021 with the following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Steve Aldrich, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Russ Ford, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.
The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in
attendance.
2. Presentation and discussion by Traylor and Associates I nc. regarding American Rescue
Plan Act funding.
Kimberly Roach introduced speakers, Mark Taylor and Wesley Traylor from Traylor and
Associates.
Mark Taylor began the presentation by recapping the allocation of American Rescue
Plan Act Funds received by the County, along with their intended use in revenue loss,
public health and infrastructure. He then invited the Court to give their input on how they
believe the ARPA funds. could best be expended.
Wesley Traylor discussed the possibility of using the funds to supply broadband internet
to the rural areas of Brazos County. The Court discussed their thoughts on this project
and agreed to have Traylor and Associates move forward on this.
Mental Health was the next topic covered. The Court discussed their desire to see a
local short-term mental health facility opened. All members of the Court agreed that

working with other local governmental entities would be the best way to get started on
this project.
The third topic discussed was a Medical Examiners Office located in Brazos County.
Again, the Court felt it would be most beneficial to have a collaborative effort between all i
local governmental entities to bring a Medical Examiners Office to Brazos County.
The last project discussed was the Brazos County Administration Building Sanctuary
remodel. All members of the Court were supportive of moving forward with renovations
on the Sanctuary to create a multipurpose facility.
Mark Taylor asked the Court if they had any other projects in mind to discuss. With no
other projects to discuss, the workshop was adjourned.
