Discussion by the Commissioners Court of the following: • illustrative plan and public comments concerning it • illustrative plan and amendments, as appropriate, to develop a plan for future adoption Executive Sessions 3. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Texas Government Code §551.071 to consult with attorney about pending or contemplated litigation and/or a settlement offer. 4. Consider and possible action on Executive Session. 5. MINUTES OCTOBER 28, 2021 BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WORKSHOP SESSION 1. Call to Order The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2021 with the following members of the Court present: Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding; Steve Aldrich, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Russ Ford, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. 2. Discussion by the Commissioners Court of the following: • illustrative plan and public comments concerning it • illustrative plan and amendments, as appropriate, to develop a plan for future adoption Syd Falk with Bickerstaff, Heath, Delgado, Acosta LLP. began the redrawing session by taking a look at I Ilustrative Plan 1 that was created at the first redrawing session on October 18, 2021. The Court began discussion and the process of redrawing the lines. Commissioner Aldrich offered a couple of suggested changes to the northern part of Precinct 1 based on public input. Commissioner Berry was in agreement with the portion of Precinct 1 that Commissioner Aldrich wanted to add to Precinct 3. Commissioner Ford then presented his thoughts on splitting Precinct 2 and Precinct 3 by Mathis Creek instead of using Highway 30 as the dividing line. Commissioner Berry was not in agreement with that plan stating that Highway 30 is the obvious choice for the line. Judge Peters agreed with Commissioner Berry and further explained why Highway 30 should VOL '04 pg. -It - sere as the dividing line between the two precincts. After further discussion on the matter, the Court was advised by General Counsel Bruce Erratt and Syd Falk that they could take a vote on which plan they intend to put on the Commissioners Court approval. By the end of this second session, a motion was made by Commissioner Berry to propose that Illustrative Plan 2 created at this workshop, be put on the next Commissioners Court Agenda for approval. The motion was seconded by Judge Peters and a vote was taken. Ayes include Judge Peters, Commissioner Aldrich, Commissioner Berry and Commissioner Cauley. Nays include Commissioner Ford. The meeting was then adjourned. Executive Sessions 3. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Texas Government Code §551.071 to consult with attorney about pending or contemplated litigation and/or a settlement offer. The Court determined there was no need to convene into Executive Session. 4. Consider and possible action on Executive Session. No action was taken. 5.
