Judge Peters read the Call to Order for the Public Hearing and explained the process
for how the hearing will be conducted. He then began calling to the Podium those who
wished to speak. The order of speakers is as follows:
Jay Meador. Mr. Meador asked that the Commissioners Court do their best to create a
balance of people in each district.
Charlie Williams. Mr. Williams is a resident on Cole Lane and expressed his interest in
seeing his children attend school in the same district that his address is. Currently, they
are in Bryan ISD though they have a College Station address.
David Hilburn. Mr. Hilburn asked that the Commissioners Court follow the law and do
their best to create a balance. He also reiterated Mr. Williams comments.
Chuck Konderla. Mr. Konderla asked that the Commissioners Court not inject anything
personal into their decisions on the redistricting process. He also suggested using
Highway 30 as the split between the Bryan and College Station ETJ.
Wanda Watson. Ms. Watson would like to see the lines drawn fairly in a way that does
not disenfranchise the communities of color.
Rudy Schultz. Mr. Schultz suggested that the Commissioners Court consider splitting
election precinct 27 into 2 parts. He believes that using the 77845 and 77808 zip codes
gives a good line to split the precinct.
Susan Laue. Ms. Laue believes that the election precincts need to be balanced.
Judge Peters asked if there was anyone who wished to speak. None came forward and
Judge Peters then announced the next Redistricting Workshop on October 28, 2021 at
