BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONDUCT A
PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2018 AT 1:45 P.M. IN
THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY
ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, SUITE
106, BRYAN, TEXAS
The court will hear comments on the Proposed Tax Increase for 2018.
Interested parties are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or
against the tax increase for 2018.
The Commissioners Courtroom of the County Administration Building, 200 South Teras Avenue, Site 106, Bryan,
Texas is wheelchair accessible. Handicap perking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive services

BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing at the Brazos
County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:45 p.m.
on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, with the following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Steve Aldrich, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance.
The purpose of the hearing is to hear commentary on the proposed tax increase for
2018.
The County Judge called the meeting to order at 2:24 p.m. and invited others to speak
Brazos County resident Marie Wolfe encouraged the Court to drop the tax rate since
property appraisals are up.
Commissioner Aldrich offered to email Ms. Wolfe information on ESD 1 Board because
she had an issue with the fees increasing even though her taxes are frozen.
Judge Peters explained that the ESD 1 Board is a separate taxing entity with their own
board and that is why the fees can be raised even when County taxes are frozen.
The County Judge announced again the adoption of the Budget and Tax Rate will be on
Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. during the regular Commissioners Court
meeting.
With no one else wishing to offer commentary for or against the proposed tax increase
the County Judge adjourned the meeting.
The foregoing minutes of the Commissioners Court Meeting held August 28, 2018 have
