County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, at 10:25 a.m. on
Tuesday August 14, 2018, with the following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;

Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.

The purpose of the hearing is to consider a plan for the District Clerk Archival Fund and
hear comments on the proposed plan.
The County Judge called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. and invited District Clerk
Marc Hamlin to speak.
Mr. Hamlin stated that due to State Law his office does not collect as many fees as the
County Clerk. He said they are continually saving money to preserve records. Mr.
Hamlin stated that for the 2018/2019 Budget there should be $100,000.00 in the fund
even though that is not a lot of money for archival preservation. He explained that his
records are electronically stored several different ways. Mr. Hamlin said that if the plan is
approved they will continue to collect money to restore important historical documents.
Commissioner Berry asked if records are digitized dating back to 2000.
Mr. Hamlin explained how technology has changed over the years and said that 90% of
