IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY .ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS. COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL HEAR PUBLIC COMMENTS CONCERNING THE AUTHORIZATION OF BRAZOS COUNTY'S PARTICIPATION INA COUNTY HEALTHCARE PROVIDER PARTICIPATION PROGRAM, WHICH, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 296 OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE (HB 3185), ALLOWS BRAZOS COUNTY TO COLLECTA MANDATORY PAYMENT FROM NONPUBLIC HOSPITALS TO BE DEPOSITED INA LOCAL PROVIDER PARTICIPATION FUND ("LPPF") ESTABLISHED BYTHE COUNTY. THE COUNTYWILLALSO HEAR PUBLIC COMMENT CONCERNING THE LPPF, INCLUDING THE COLLECTION OF DATA REQUIRED TO CONTINUE THE LPPF, ESTABLISHING MADATORY PAYMENTS FOR PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1, 2017 -AUGUST 31, 2018, THE AMOUNT OF FISCAL YEAR MANDATORY PAYMENTS REQUIRED OF ALL LOCAL HOSPITALS, THE PROPOSED USES FOR THE REVENUE DERIVED FROM THOSE MANDATORY PAYMENTS, AND RULES ADOPTED BY BRAZOS COUNTYTO IMPLEMENT HB 3185 INCLUDING FISCAL YEAR FOR LPPF. REPRESENTATIVES OF LOCAL NONPUBLIC HOSPITALS AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND SAID HEARING AND PRESENTTHEIR CAUSE, IF ANY, FOR OR AGAINST THESE MATTERS. The Commissioners Courtroom of the County Administration Building, 200 South Texas Avenue, Suite 106, Bryan, Texas. is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Vol. C2-ej= Pg. /6 / MINUTES DECEMBER 12, 2017 BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT PUBLIC HEARING The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing at the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12 2017, with the following members of the Court present: Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding; Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The purpose of the hearing is to hear commentary concerning the authorization of Brazos County's participation in a County Healthcare Provider Participation Program. The County Judge called the meeting to order and invited others to speak. CHI St. Joseph Health System Chief Financial Officer Dan Goggin addressed the Court stating that he is in favor of the Local Provider Participation Fund (LPPF). Mr. Goggin thanked the Court their support of this program that aids indigent patients. Judge Peters said he has only received positive remarks about the program. Civil Counsel Ed Bull stated he and Budget Officer Irene Jett have been working on the LPPF since May. Mr. Bull said that the since May the program has expanded and is able to include funding in additional areas.
