IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVE., SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS. COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONSIDER A PLAN FOR THE COUNTY CLERK ARCHIVAL FUND AND HEAR COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSED PLAN. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND SAID HEARING AND PRESENT THEIR CAUSE, IF ANY, FOR OR AGAINST THE PROPOSED PLAN. The Commissioners Courtroom of the County Administration Building, 200 South Texas Avenue, Suite 106, Bryan, Texas is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Vol. � Pg. / 4z MINUTES AUGUST 8, 2017 BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT PUBLIC HEARING The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing at the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, with the following members of the Court present: Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding; Steve Aldrich, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Nancy Berry, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The purpose of the hearing is to consider a plan for the County Clerk Archival Fund and hear comments on the proposed plan. The County Judge called the meeting to order at 10:28 a.m. after the end of the regular meeting and invited County Clerk Karen McQueen to speak. Mrs. McQueen explained that Senate Bill 1731 allows the Clerk's Office to collect fees for the preservation of records. She said that with the fees collected they have digitized records and they are currently working on Phase 3, which is to remodel the Brazos Arena Hall building into a new records storage building. Mrs. McQueen also stated that are also working on preserving the vital statistics books and will begin on the deed records next year. Mrs. McQueen estimates that 27,000 documents have been filed this year and $540,000 has been collected in fees. Vol. o2 S pg. 4 - Mrs. McQueen stated that the archival plan would be placed on next week's agenda.
