' 2 5F1 "f O BRAZOS COUNTY BRYANJEXAS MINUTES July 25, 2014 BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT SPECIAL CALLED SESSION Minutes Call To Order. 0 File Stamped Agenda.0 0 Sign in sheet.pdf A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom in the Administration Building, 200 South Texas Avenue, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 with the following members of the Court present: Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding; Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent. The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in attendance. Consider and take action on future use of county building located on Washington Street currently used for MHMR. The first matter to be considered was the future use of the county building located on Washington Street currently used by MHMR. Before the Court was a request submitted by Allen J. Segal, board member of the Brazos Valley Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, Vol.-204 Pg. -2,%3 Texas asking to extend their lease for an additional six (6) months in order to complete renovations on a property the MHMR owns on Memorial Drive. The County Judge said this will delay the medical clinic but he does not want to adversely affect the MHMR program either. So he is ok with the extension. He continued saying that it is his hope to move on this as soon as possible. Sheryl Allen with the Brazos Valley Rehab Center further explained the situation and said she can relocate the program much quicker than six (6) months to help the County out. The Court voted unanimously to extend the lease on the property for an additional six (6) months beginning August 15, 2014 with the understanding that the time will be shortened if possible. Motion: Approve, Moved by Commissioner Irma Cauley, Seconded by Commissioner Sammy Catalena. Passed. 0 -0. Consider and take action on agreement between Brazos County and Texas A &M University for operations at Easterwood Airport. John Clanton with Easterwood Airport Management explained the plans for Easterwood Airport and the grant that would fund them. If successful it would bring Delta Airlines to the airport increasing the number of flights in and out of the area. Bill Ballard, Civil Counsel presented the agreement showing the services that would be provided. This could be handled without going through A &M if necessary. The Court voted unanimously to fund $12,500 in a three (3) year period of time. This will be sent through an agreement with A &M. Motion: Approve, Moved by Commissioner Irma Cauley, Seconded by Commissioner Kenny Mallard. Passed. 0 -0. Adjourn Vol. 204 Pg.
