BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONDUCT A PUBLIC
HEARING ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2013 AT 10:30 A.M. IN THE
COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION
BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS
THE BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON
NOVEMBER 5, 2013, ON THE CREATION/DESIGNATION OF A COUNTY REINVESTMENT
ZONE AND ITS BENEFITS TO BRAZOS COUNTY AND TO PROPERTY WITHIN THE
PROPOSED REINVESTMENT ZONE, WHICH CONSISTS OF 3 CONTIGUOUS TRACTS OF
LAND TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 185 ACRES GENERALLY LOCATED IN BRAZOS
COUNTY, TEXAS, ALONG AND ABOUT THE SOUTHEAST QUADRANT OF STATE
HIGHWAY 6 AND LOUIS E. MIKULIN ROAD, OUTSIDE OF THE CORPORATE LIMIT
BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF BRYAN.
AT THE PUBLIC HEARING, ANY INTERESTED PERSON MAY SPEAK FOR OR AGAINST
THE CREATION OF THE REINVESTMENT ZONE, ITS BOUNDARIES, OR THE CONCEPT OF
TAX INCREMENT FINANCING. AT A DATE AND TIME FOLLOWING THE PUBLIC
HEARING, THE BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONSIDER ADOPTION
OF AN ORDER CREATING THE REINVESTMENT ZONE.
THE PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD AT 10:30 A.M. AT THE BRAZOS COUNTY
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES, LOCATED AT 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM, BRYAN, TEXAS.

A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the
Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom in the Administration Building, 200 South Texas
Avenue, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November
5, 2013 with the following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.
The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in attendance.
The Court met in a public hearing to hear commentary for and against the
creation /designation of a county reinvestment zone consisting of 3 contiguous tracts of
land totaling approximately 185 acres generally located in Brazos County, Texas, along
and about the southeast quadrant of State Highway 6 and Louis E. Mikulin Road, outside
of the corporate limit boundaries of the City of Bryan.
This is for a tax abatement for Axis Pipe and Tube. The County Judge called the public
hearing to order immediately following the regular Commisssioners Court meeting at

11:11 a.m.
There were no citizens present wishing to speak.
Bill Ballard, Civil Counsel explained that consideration should be given to the creation of
the tax reinvestment zone. He continued by stating that the following factors need to be
considered prior to approval.
Axis will-
• create 150 new jobs
• increase the current tax base by over $150 million dollars
• add payroll revenue to Brazos County
• will improve the area where located
There being no further comment, the public hearing was adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
