BRAZOS COUNTY BRYANJEXAS MINUTES September 30, 2013 BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WORKSHOP SESSION Minutes Call To Order. File Stamoed Aaenda.odf R Sian in sheetmdf A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was opened in Suite 332 of the Administration Building and then moved to the Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom, 200 South Texas Avenue, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 with the following members of the Court present: Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding; Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in attendance. 2. Discussions regarding developing a "Road Damage Agreement ". Alan Munger, County Engineer introduced Tom Sullivan with the Texas Transportation Institute and Matt Holseth with Halcon Resources. The County Engineer gave an overview of how roads are designed. He went on to say that the State Legislature approved $22.5 million dollars to go to counties for road improvement. He explained that in order to get the funds, the county must use TxDOT designs. Mr. Holseth said Halcon is willing to help in any way they can to arrive at a solution to the problem of road damage. 3. Discussions regarding fines for overweight trucks. The Court discussed methods for assessing fines for overweight trucks. They discussed issuing permits for overweight vehicles but it was pointed out that the county cannot issue permits. It can however require the trucks be bonded as discussed in the Permit Per Well Agreement." 4. Discussions regarding Revision of "Driveway Permit' adding fees. The Court discussed a revision of the Driveway Permit. Gary Arnold, Planning and Development Agent for the Road & Bridge Department ask what the Road & Bridge Department need to do next to facilitate the progress. Commissioner Catalena suggested a meeting with all of the producers to discuss the problem and look for a solution. 5. Adjourn.
