A Workshop meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was
held in the Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom in the Administration
Building, 200 South Texas Avenue, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 with the following members of the Court
present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.
The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in
attendance.

Discussions regarding an employee clinic and Medical Director for the Jail & Juvenile

The County Judge opened the meeting and the discussion concerning an employee
clinic and medical director for the jail and juvenile services. He then turned the floor over
to Bill Jeanes, Risk Manager who gave a presentation on the need of a clinic and how it
could help the jail.
The County Judge said he had been reluctant to go forward with the clinic because of
the cost of a doctor, but he now thinks it might make sense if that doctor could also serve
as Medical Director of the jail.
The Sheriff, Jail Administrator and a jail nurse all gave insights into the needs of the jail.
Dr. Doug Vance, Director of Juvenile Services spoke on the needs of the juvenile
detention facility.
