A Workshop meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was
held in the Brazos County Commissioners Courtroom in the Administration
Building, 200 South Texas Avenue, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 with the following members of the Court
present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.
The attached sheets contain the names of the citizens and officials that were in
attendance.
2. Discuss the Brazos County HOME Program which provides assistance in the form of a
grant to eligible homeowners to replace their current home with a new house built on the
same lot or, in some cases to repair their existing home.
The County Judge opened the meeting and turned the floor over to Donna M. Johnson,

Director of Grant Works HOME Program who proceeded to give the court an overview of
the program. This program provides assistance to very low income, eligible
homeowners who cannot make major repairs to their homes. The Program
helps by building them a new home on their property or repairing their existing home.
This is a turn -key service where Grant Works handles every aspect of management for
the project. The County's responsibilities are to help identify applicants, adopt a policy to
be used to select applicants, sign state required forms, approve payment requests and
forward the paperwork to GrantWorks for proper filing.
