Call To Order.

The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session
in Room 339 of the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos
County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012 with the
following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, , Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen , County Clerk, Absent.
The following were present:

Irene Jett, Budget Officer
Nina Means, Budget Analyst
Candy Gallego, Executive Assistant
Alan Munger, County Engineer

2. Presentations and Discussions regarding the 2012 -2013 County Budget.

The Court discussed finishing the Courthouse remodel and how to finance it
Charles Wendt, Purchasing Agent led the discussion on the phases of construction and
the costs involved.
Also discussed was using the debt fund for the following projects:
Courthouse Remodel
Brazos Center
Juvenile Services
Maintenance Shop
Tax Office
The County Bond Counsel has said the current debt could be refinanced for the same
number of years, at a lower interest rate and generate $10 million dollars more for the
projects listed above without raising the tax rate.
