The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session
in Suite 332 of the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos
County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 with the
following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley , Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
Karen McQueen , County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance.
2. Discussion and Demonstration regarding E -Poll Books.

The Commissioner's Court met to discuss and watch a demonstration on E -Poll Books.
Kristy Roe, Tax Assessor /Collector spoke on issues with printing voter lists for elections.
There are 9,500 pages per list and there two (2) lists are printed for each party. Also
work has to be done after early vote and before the elections which means work over the

weekend. Because of the weekend work, Ms. Roe has been unable to find a printer who
wants this work. These are some of the reasons she and those involved with elections
have been looking at E -Poll Books. Both the Cities of Bryan and College Station have
agreed to contribute toward the purchase of the E -Poll Books.
David Magedson, Project Manager with Hart Civic was present to do the demonstration
on E -Poll Books. He showed how this would make the poll worker's job easier, and cut
printing costs dramatically. Karen McQueen, county Clerk added that this will allow her
to cut the number of poll works. The cost for the machines plus four (4) or five (5) extra
will be around $98,000. Both Ms. McQueen and Ms. Roe have funds available that can
be used for the purchase.
