BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONDUCT A PUBLIC
HEARING ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2011 AT 4:30 P.M. IN THE
COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION
BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS
THE COURT WILL HEAR COMMENTS ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2012. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO
ATTEND SAID HEARING AND PRESENT THEIR CAUSE, IF ANY, FOR OR AGAINST THE
PROPOSED BUDGET.
THE PROPOSED BUDGET IS FILED WITH THE COUNTY CLERK AND WILL REMAIN ON
FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK IN ACCORDANCE WITH EXISTING STATE
STATUTES. ALL INTERESTED PARTIES ARE URGED TO ACQUAINT THEMSELVES WITH
SAID BUDGET DURING THE TIME IT REMAINS ON FILE WITH THE COUNTY CLERK. FOR
YOUR CONVENIENCE, THE PROPOSED BUDGET HAS ALSO BEEN PLACED ONTHE
COUNTY'S WEBSITE AT

The Brazos County Administration Building is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive services

The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing at the Brazos
County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on
Tuesday, September 6, 2011, with the following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley , Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen , County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance.
The purpose of this Public Hearing is to hear comments on the Proposed Budget for the
Fiscal Year ending September 30, 2012. All interested persons were invited to attend
said Hearing and present their cause, if any, for or against the Proposed Budget. The
Proposed Budget is filed with the County Clerk and will remain on file in the office of the
County Clerk in accordance with existing state statutes. All interested parties are urged
to acquaint themselves with said budget during the time it remains on file with the County
Clerk. The Proposed Budget is also posted on the County's website

The County Judge called the meeting to order and invited others to speak

Bill Kelly with the Mental Health Mental Retardation organization thanked the Court for
their past and future support. He commented on all the citizens served in Brazos County
saying they were close to reaching $5.7 million dollars in funding. The organization is
only funded by the state to serve 84 children but they are currently serving almost twice
that number. He also thanked the Sheriff's Department for their help.
At 4:37 p.m. the County Judge said that the meeting will remain open for comments until
4:45 p.m. when the tax hearing starts.
