BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL CONDUCT A PBULIC
HEARING ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 2011 AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE
COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION
BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS
Public hearing to receive comments from the public regarding proposed Redistricting Illustrative Plan
concerning proposed new boundaries for Brazos County Commissioner and Justice Precincts. The
Brazos County Commissioners Court will receive comments from the public, but will not discuss the
plans or their relative merits during the public hearing.

en el Plan Rustrativo respecto a la propuesta de nuevos lintites Para los comisionados del Condado de

BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing at the Brazos
County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, August 10, 2011, with the following members of the Court present:
Duane Peters, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann , Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Sammy Catalena, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Absent;
Irma Cauley , Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen , County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance.
Public hearing to receive comments from the public regarding proposed Redistricting
Illustrative Plan concerning proposed new boundaries for Brazos County Commissioner

Audiencia publica Para recibir comentarios del publico sobre la redistribucidn de distritos
propuesta en el Plan Ilustrativo respecto a la propuesta de nuevos limites para los
comisionados del Condado de Brazos y precintos de justicia. La Corte de Comisionados
del Condado de Brazos recibira comentarios del publico, pero no hablaran de los planes
o sus meritos durante la audiencia publica.
The purpose of the hearing is to hear a presentation on the redistricting illustrative plan

and to receive commentary on it.
The County Judge called the meeting to order and turned the floor over to Mr. Syd Falk
who spoke on redistricting legal principles and adopted redistricting criteria. He then
showed and explain to those present the map of the Illustrative Plan.
The County Judge then asked for questions or comments from those attending.
Stella and Lambert Wilkes residents of the current Precinct 1 asked if they could keep
Commissioner Wassermann as their County Commissioner. Mr. Falk explained to
them the procedure for changing precinct lines.
There being no further commentary the Public Hearing was closed
