IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVENUE, SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS. 1. Call to Order 2. Discussion regarding the daily amount of reimbursement of expenses in Fiscal Year 2011 for a person who reports for jury service. 3. Review of the Juror Payment Authorization Form and discussion regarding the charities to be listed on this form for Fiscal Year 2011. 4. Office of the County Judge • 200 South Texas Ave. Suite 332 Bryan, Texas 77803 Fax: (979) 361 -4503 Vol. — 13 '�-- -- Pg. lLe COMMISSIONERS' COURT WORKSHOP SESSION The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Brazos County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 with the following members of the Court present: Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding; Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The Commissioner's Court met to discuss the daily amount of reimbursement of expenses in Fiscal Year 2010 for a person who reports for jury service. Marc Hamlin, District Clerk addressed the Court. He said he had met with the Treasurer to discuss this issue. The County Judge asked about the amount of the daily reimbursement. Mr. Hamlin stated that it was $6.00 for the first day, $40 per day thereafter. He noted that the State reimburses $34.00 each day after the first day. Commissioner Cauley asked how much was donated to the Crime Vol t 3q Page -7-7 Commissioners Court meeting June 1, 2010 2 Victims Fund. Kay Hamilton, County Treasurer said she did not have it with her but would bring her that information. Commissioner Cauley also asked for the amount donated to the Child Welfare Board. The Court once again discussed how much time the clerk in the District Clerk's office spent on juror payment and on office duties. Commissioner Peters pointed out that the County could save money by having the Treasurer's office assume the check writing duties. The Court continued discussion on finding out which method of payment would be most cost effective. Commissioner Cauley asked to discuss the charities listed on the form. She stated she would like to add charities to the list. Commissioner Mallard suggested coming up with criteria for submitting charities for addition. Commissioner Cauley said she would work on this. Marc Hamlin, District Clerk added that his office had been contacted by several organizations that wanted to be included. Commissioner Cauley then asked that a Workshop be scheduled in two weeks time to discuss this.
