BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY WILL MEET IN A
WORKSHOP SESSION ON TUESDAY 15 DECEMBER 2009 AT 9:00 A.M. IN THE
COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATION
BUILDING, 200 SOUTH TEXAS AVE., SUITE 106, BRYAN, TEXAS.
1. Call to Order.
2. Proposed plan for presenting the revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps to the community.
3. Proposed revisions to the County's floodplain ordinance.
4. Adjourn.
The Brazos County Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
DECEMBER 15, 2009
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a
Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Brazos
County Administration Building in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas,
beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 with the
following members of the Court present:
Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Irma Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk, Absent.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Commissioner's Court met to discuss the proposed
plan for presenting the revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps to
the community and proposed revisions to the County's
floodplain ordinance. Gary Arnold and Kim Hinton gave a
presentation on re- mapping the floodplains in Brazos County.
They indicated that were will be three meetings held at the
Brazos Center on the following dates for public input:
January 18, 2010 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
January 19, 2010 beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

January 20, 2010 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Arnold
and
Ms.
Hinton went
on to explain that
after the
holidays,
they
will
be sending
out letters to any
resident
whose property is being affected by a change in the location
of the floodplain. Should anyone call with questions, they
asked that the call be directed to Ms. Hinton.
Mr. Arnold stated that he would also like to make a
change to the ordinance for flood damage prevention by raising
the elevation one (1) foot higher.

held December 15, 2009, have been examined and approved in
