WORKSHOP SESSION
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY WILL MEET IN A
WORKSHOP SESSION ON TUESDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 2007 AT 1:30 P.M. IN THE
COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300
E. 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS.
1. Call to Order
2. Presentation by representatives from Nationwide regarding the loan provision for
deferred compensation accounts that can be added to Brazos County's plan document.
3. Presentation by representatives from Security Benefit regarding the loan provision for
deferred compensation accounts that can be added to Brazos County's plan document,
and their enhanced deferred compensation program
4. Adjourn

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
SEPTEMBER 18, 2007
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a
Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:30
p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, with the following
members of the Court present:
Randy Sims, County Judge, Presiding;
Lloyd Wassermann, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Duane Peters, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Kenny Mallard, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Commissioner's Court met to hear two presentations.
The first presentation, by a representative from Nationwide,
concerned the loan provision for deferred compensation
accounts that can be added to Brazos County's plan document.
Kevin Burton, representing Nationwide talked about the
Automatic Clearing House (ACH). He went over the process an
employee goes through to obtain a loan from the deferred
compensation account. There are currently forty four
employees participating in deferred compensation.

The Court recessed until 2:08 p.m. Commissioner Peters
was absent for this presentation.
Jorge Martinez, Charles Rognon and Deborah Deitering
representing Security Benefit spoke next concerning the loan
provision for deferred compensation accounts that can be added
to Brazos County's plan document. They too went over the steps
to obtain a loan from the deferred compensation account.
Commissioner Mallard asked for a past performance record
whereupon Mr. Martinez said the Human Resources Department has
some of those and that he would be glad to get him some more.

The foregoing minutes of the Commissioners Court Workshop
held September 18, 2007, have been examined and approved in
